CSFB Names Philipp
To Fill Sants's Post

Credit Suisse First Boston Corp. named Michael Philipp chairman and chief executive of CSFB Europe, Middle East and Africa, effective Feb. 1.
Mr. Philipp fills a post that Hector Sants left in April, and CSFB Chief Executive Officer Brady Dougan held in the interim. Mr. Sants left CSFB to become director of the U.K.'s Financial Service Authority's wholesale and institutional markets division.
In a statement yesterday, the banking unit of Swiss financial-services giant Credit Suisse Group said Mr. Philipp will chair its European executive committee, as well as hold a seat on its executive board and management council.
Mr. Philipp held numerous senior-management posts at Deutsche Bank AG from 1995 to 2000, including chairman and chief executive of Deutsche Asset Management.
He also founded and was CEO of Gyre Capital Management, and he was chairman of Vision Fuel Capital and Vision Fuel Services.
